Fohow is a transnational group of companies engaged in the research, manufacture and promotion of natural health products based on traditional Chinese medicine. The first production facility launched in 1999, and the Fohow Corporation was founded in 2006. Today its activities span 88 countries and regions across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Production and quality-control standards meeting pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements were introduced.
2001
The Fohow Yangsheng Research Institute was founded. Following the unique formulas of academician Tang Yuzhi, the “Phoenix Elixir” was created - the very one that still opens the product line today.
2002
Products were exported to the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong and other countries of South-East Asia.
2004
The “Three Principles of Fohow Product Development and Manufacture” and the “Yangsheng Theory” were formulated.
2005
The Zhuhai biotechnology facility was put into operation.
2006
The Fohow Corporation was founded.
2007
Operations began in Europe and the CIS countries.
2008
The “Hope” charitable foundation was founded.
2009
Operations began in the countries of Africa.
2011
An international conference on traditional Chinese medicine, held jointly with the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies.
2013
Construction of the Tianjin pharmaceutical facility began.
2014
The corporation became a participant in the World Economic Forum.
2016
The company’s Chinese division launched, along with the Fohow+ e-commerce system.
2017
An international TCM forum in Moscow. Fohow gained membership status in the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS).
2020
The company entered the list of the “Top 500 Most Successful Asian Enterprises”, and Fohow’s president, Mr Yu Fei, received the “Top 10 Industry Leaders” award.
2022
A line of peptide products was added to the range, and the cosmetics series was updated.
2023
The FENDOU programme was launched - built around the “Youth Plus” cordyceps-peptide capsules.
2024
The company was honoured with the World Outstanding Enterprise Award for its achievements in the health industry.

Yu Fei

Founder of the Fohow Corporation, chairman of the “Fohow Hope” charitable foundation

Yu Fei is the founder of the Fohow Corporation, an entrepreneur and a follower of Yangsheng, the traditional Chinese culture of maintaining health.

In 1999, in Foshan, Guangdong Province, Yu Fei founded a production base for Yangsheng health products, marking the beginning of the Fohow Corporation’s development. In 2001, with his participation, the Fohow Yangsheng Research Institute was founded, bringing together specialists in traditional Chinese medicine and modern research.

At the core of Fohow’s work Yu Fei sees the spread of Yangsheng culture - the traditional Chinese approach to maintaining health and longevity. His mission is expressed as a striving to make the knowledge and culture of Yangsheng available to people around the world and to give people the chance to live a healthy and full life.

Under his leadership, Fohow developed its own research and production base, refined its quality standards and gradually entered the international market. In 2006 the FOHOW brand began to be used on the international market, and in 2007 the corporation’s first foreign branch was opened - in Moscow.

Charity holds a special place in Yu Fei’s work. On his initiative the “Fohow Hope” charitable foundation was created, aimed at supporting orphaned children and people with disabilities.

Yu Fei continues to lead the development of the Fohow Corporation and represents its international mission, founded on a combination of entrepreneurship, scientific development and the promotion of Yangsheng culture.

Its own factories and its own raw-material base

Fohow has four production bases, a separate raw-material cultivation base, its own research institute and its own logistics. Nothing is outsourced to contract bottling.

Raw materials - Fohow EcoAgro. The base sits in the water-protection zone of a nature reserve of national importance - the Danjiangkou reservoir. The area of the raw-material cultivation plots is 1,390,000 m² (about 139 hectares). The facility holds ISO 9000 and HACCP certificates, a state licence to export components of traditional Chinese medicine, and a QS quality certificate.

The bases run fully automated lines with multi-stage checks on every batch. Their own warehousing and logistics facilities ensure delivery to any part of the world.

The Yangsheng Research Institute

The Fohow Yangsheng Research Institute was founded in 2001 by academician Tang Yuzhi. The institute brought together specialists in traditional Chinese medicine and health nutrition, biologists and process engineers, and is divided into three units: a research centre, a quality-control and laboratory-analysis centre, and a pilot-experimental centre.

Academician Tang Yuzhi was an outstanding specialist in traditional Chinese medicine, one of the founders of the Yangsheng scientific field and a person who played a significant role in shaping Fohow’s scientific foundation.

He devoted more than 60 years to the study and practical application of traditional Chinese medicine. He was an honorary academician of the Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the PRC, an honorary professor at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology of the PRC, and Fohow’s leading expert on the Yangsheng culture of maintaining health.

Tang Yuzhi became the founder of the Fohow Yangsheng Research Institute. His scientific work and knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine formed the basis of a number of the company’s products and approaches. In particular, Fohow states that the “Phoenix Elixir” was created following a unique traditional formula of academician Tang Yuzhi.

Over the years of his scientific and medical work, Tang Yuzhi authored more than twenty scientific publications and four scholarly works on traditional Chinese medicine. He devoted a significant part of his work to developing the theory and culture of Yangsheng and to spreading knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine.

Academician Tang Yuzhi remains an important part of Fohow’s scientific history and a foundation for the continuity of the Yangsheng scientific field.
